Description
Verbena Officinalis
This is an herb that tenaciously grows, self seeds in thick blankets and roots down in persistent perennial clumps, and wants to be known in my garden. Her flowers are small, tiny, like twiggy background noise, but that’s no measure of her abilities, her potency, her magic.
I am learning her properties as a nervine, to begin with. It is said that she can quell anxiety, pain, and insomnia. Quick tempers and hot heads are brought back into balance. Those neck and shoulder tension holders, those driven, relentless go-go-goers are perfect candidates for this medicine. Intensity is released, well-being and relaxation is remembered in the mind and body, as Vervain permeates and does her thing.
Digestion: stimulates bile production, energy flow, releases tension, stagnation, hypersensitivity.
