Last weekend was our local Christmas craft market and I had a table selling my herbs and books. My favourite customer of the night was sweetest lady who told me how glad she was that I was back, how much she loved my book, Sleepy Lion Lullaby. So she got herself another 2, and 3 of my other books. She was 98 and I promised her that I’d have a brand new book for her if she promised to come to the market again next year. And it was all the push I needed. The point of this photo is the blank canvas in the corner. A new painting spot all set up in the midst of a circus. In the midst of daily life, of hearth building for the bus’s new wood stove, of end of year album-making, of laundry and grocery and schedules, and dogs. In the midst of online selling season, and fort building and Smurf villages and Christmas decorating and kitchen cleaning. Monday craft 🤍 We have been cracking walnuts and turning them into teeny tiny cradles for the Christmas tree. Sleep well, dream big. What is everyone’s favourite herbal tea? Tulsi. Well, maybe not everyone, but almost. Just what this busy, frazzled multi-tasking mama needed today. A knight in shining armour to help get all the garlic in the ground…. And all before noon! 💪😆 I forgot to mention, I’ve made a little booklet about each of the 12 herbs in this tincture sample set. I’m sending out the first batch of orders today with so much gratitude. Only 6 left, so hurry up and get yours before they are gone! Every time a super hero in a cape attempts to build his empire, a couple of skally-wag dogs roll in and get rambunctious. Every. time. The perfect gift for a student of herbalism, wherever you are on your journey. Yep, the Tea Sampler Gift box is back. Sometimes I sing when I work. A tincture is just a fancy name for an infusion of aromatic, flavourful, nourishing and medicinal herbs in alcohol. One of my favourite photos ever. And I have so. many. photos. Sometimes I go into the archives and try to sort out what to do with them all. And, just like all good memories, I get dopamine hit, an aching surge of nostalgia, an overwhelming feeling of time rushing by, and this beautiful life too short.
