Behind the scenes, for the past 6 months, I have been working on this fun little project…

This is the only photo I took in the middle of my mold nightmare. So grateful for my soul sister Johana @kente.joy who helped me today when I needed it most. Mold is so gross and sneaky and relentless and January was the perfect storm. But we did it. We saved my bus.

The first layer is kind of like painting a map. The next layer with a finer brush is like exploring every little inch of the terrain.

In the last 10 years, while I created my dream in Robinwood, time stood still at Shyness And Bloom (Children’s Art Studio), piling up with more and more bins, and junk and sparkly dust, and stray pompoms and buttons and googley eyes gathering in corners, cloaked in spiderwebs and memories. The floor is a dizzying colour-scape of stories of messy hands and extra paint, and freedom to express.

The point of this photo is the blank canvas in the corner. A new painting spot all set up in the midst of a circus. In the midst of daily life, of hearth building for the bus’s new wood stove, of end of year album-making, of laundry and grocery and schedules, and dogs. In the midst of online selling season, and fort building and Smurf villages and Christmas decorating and kitchen cleaning.

Monday craft 🤍 We have been cracking walnuts and turning them into teeny tiny cradles for the Christmas tree.
