Our tiny little house way up high in the trees, looking out over the meadow…

How the heck is a herb nerd like me supposed to weed a garden bed to make room for Tulsi and Ashwagandha when every other weed is Calendula or Lambs Quarters or Yarrow or California Poppy or Wild Bergamot or Borage or Dandelion or….😅😅 ….Help me!! How to make a felt crown: May long weekend, and we planted and planted. The vegetable garden is planted. The sweet peas and potatoes, kale, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots. The beets and peppers, peas and beans. Tomatoes, onions, squash, marigolds. And I got to do it with this little character. Happy Mother’s Day 🤍 This is my current state of motherhood. Growing plants, growing boy, growing heart. Hosted my first painting lesson tonight in the medicine cabin. Bringing myself back to brushes and canvas and teaching and sharing and colour and love of creating beauty and art. Pretty sweet. Can you believe what I found on our beach today? All the rocks that have come up to the house in my pockets, all the skippers, all the fossils, all the heart shapes, egg shapes, and all the quartz and jade and the empty pans of gold, that one agate (my favourite rock), and all the beautiful treasures I’ve found down here over the last 9 years, nothing has been as cool as this. An ancient tool, a spear head? A gift from our ancestors, reminding us of the thread of life? Some folks know this time of year as Beltane. You know, May Day and the long ribbons on the May Pole. It’s a celebration for the fullness of spring and the fire of summer is lit. Well, without naming it, today we did just that. A new volume of Folklife Magazine arrived in the mail. Yay!! My closest friend, my teacher… @ravenwoodlife how did I get so lucky, knowing this amazing person, riding along beside her, as we travel through time and life? She is magic and wisdom and my soul sister- The wildness and the love this woman has, the fun, the joy. And she wrote a book for the soul, for all life, for authentic connectedness and healing, and real power, transformation, spirit medicine. She’s such a huge part of my journey toward myself, and I have no doubt just reading her beautiful words will gift you with an opening down your own path toward your own beautiful full life too. Forever grateful, forever grounded, forever changed by her. Spirit Turtle Woman, Corinna Stevenson, @ravenwoodlife At Robinwood, spring is mud and worms and chirping. It’s forging new trails while you can still see the ground through the bare forest underbrush. It’s watching things ever so slowly and quickly emerge. It’s a good time for surprises, too, like this harvest of nettles, this herd of elk coming to visit, this sweet little green and gold frog, and of course, that late April snow.. Here’s a glimpse at least, at our world, at snow storms in April and little boys with cold feet. Two giddy parents as our backs get the weather, the surprising cold, the April snow, the heavy tread of our wild little child, his feet thumping pure joy into our bodies, stamping out the stress, the worries and pain. His glorious cold little feet, the flurry of laughter, the indoor snowball fight that came later, the giggles and chase, ice down the back, melting on the floor, all of it that will be remembered for years to come, that one special winter day in April we just couldn’t believe our eyes… The Bean Queen in all her jewels…
